Goal

The Tavush Project, implemented by AMAA, aims to promote community development in Tavush Village by:

  • Supporting them in building stable sources of economic income

Strategy

Over the three-year implementation period, the project plans to establish a new residential neighborhood in Tavush Village that includes:

To empower local families and foster integration between the new and existing neighborhoods, selected households from the local community will also be supported to develop:

  • Bakery and confectionery production
  • Juice, compote, and jam production

The project will work closely with participating families through tailored training, orientation sessions, and consultations to ensure they are fully prepared to manage their farms and businesses effectively.

Partnerships

Throughout the project, strategic partnerships will be pursued with both public and private stakeholders, including:

  • Government bodies (e.g., Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Tourism Committee of Armenia)
  • International and local organizations (e.g., World Food Programme)

These collaborations aim to support the development of a strong local economic value chain.

  • New housing options with proper infrastructure, recreational facilities, and a renovated medical and maternity center will be available in Tavush Village
  • Displaced and local families will live in homes designed according to their family size
  • Selected families will use economic support tools to generate sustainable income
  • Tourism opportunities will be developed within the village
  • The social and economic life of Tavush Village and the broader community will be significantly improved
